Nutrient for Bone Health
“Magnesium is also essential for building strong bones and helps to prevent calcium from being excreted by the body. Although magnesium is found in many foods, such as nuts, seeds, legumes, whole grains, seafood, and leafy greens, many women do not get enough of this critical nutrient. To ensure an adequate intake of magnesium, eat foods rich in magnesium daily and take 400 to 600 milligrams daily of magnesium, preferably in the form of magnesium citrate, aspartate, gluconate, or lactate, all easily absorbable forms of the mineral.” (p.210-211).
